The Society of St. John DeMatha is a Catholic faith based 501 (3) (c) that was formed in 2014 by Deacon Al Bothe and several other St. Laurence parishioners to assist the inmates at Jester 3 prison and other facilities to make a successful transition – spiritually, emotionally and financially – to a life outside of prison.

The Society of Saint John DeMatha is a non-profit organization which exists with Ecclesiastical Approval as a Private Association of the Christian Faithful for the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston for the spiritual and pastoral need of the People of God and for the purposes defined in the Statues.
