Renovations of St. John DeMatha Rosary House The Society of St. John DeMatha with the help of St. Laurence Parishioners and Habitat for Humanity and under the direction of Richard Hogan renovated the St. John DeMatha Rosary House. Many people volunteered and donated time, effort, and furniture to the house. This was in an agreement with the Magnificat House Ministry. The House was renovated for several thousand dollars by SSJD so that they would be able use the house to house Inmates coming out of Prison who have nowhere else to go. They had the opportunity to take four of the courses offered by SSJD and they were provided with a mentor as they searched for employment. The Blessing of the House opened with Mass on April 3, 2015 with Cardinal Daniel DiNardo as the Celebrant and Fr. Drew Wood, Fr. Roy Ogerro and many other priests as cocelebrants. Deacon Al Bothe, the founder of the Society of St. John DeMatha was present to assist the Cardinal. It was a beautiful morning in the open air chapel on the grounds of the Magnificat House Ministry with Mary Thompson leading in the music. All of the Board members and many of the Members who facilitate the courses of the SSJD attended the Mass and the House Blessing. There were approximately 75 participants for that morning Dedication Mass.
